I know plenty of you lovely NITK readers are from all over the world.. the US, Europe, Australia, and many more wonderful places, so this post might not apply to you directly, but I think you’ll still enjoy it!
Because I am Canadian and us Canucks celebrate our Thanksgiving this weekend, I wanted to highlight some of my not-so-traditional favourite side dishes for a Thanksgiving meal! If you celebrate Thanksgiving in November you can put these on your list of must-makes and start planning your amazing dinner now!
So, here are my 8 delicious, simple and savoury unique side dishes… who says potatoes need to be mashed, or zucchini and squash just diced and roasted?? How about baked fries, caramelized sweet potatoes, or zucchini and squash turned into chips instead?! Mmmm! Yes please!
1. Autumn Chop Salad With Roasted Beets & Sweet Potato & Apple Dijon Dressing
2. Gluten Free Apple Cheddar Loaf
3. Sea Salt & Honey Caramelized Sweet Potatoes
4. Oven Baked Zucchini Chips
5. Vegan Gluten Free Basil Cornbread
6. Creamy Tahini Kale Salad with Pomegranate
(this recipe is courtesy of Deryn at Running on Real Food!)
7. The Best Baked Herb & Garlic Fries
8. Sweet Chili Acorn Squash Chips with Avocado Ranch Dip
Do any of these peak your interest?? I sure hope so! If you do try any of these please post and share with #NITKThanksgivingSides so I can see your creations!
To all of you who are celebrating, have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving – I am thankful for YOU!
