FAQs
Can I use frozen salmon fillets?
I have not tested this recipe with frozen salmon fillets so I cannot answer that for sure. I recommend sticking with fresh fish if at all possible or using thawed frozen fillets because the glaze will not stick so well to the fish if it is frozen. Not only will the glaze slide off but this means that the flavor would slide off as well and not soak into the fish as well as it would had it been fresh.
Do you have to flip salmon in the air fryer?
Unlike when you are cooking on the stovetop, the air fryer heats your food from all sides (as long as the holes on the rack aren’t covered completely) this means that you can heat your salmon from the top and bottom without the need to flip it over. Save yourself a little effort and time knowing that once you place the salmon fillets in your air fryer, you’re good to go until the timer announces that it has finished.
What temperature should salmon be cooked at?
While you can visually see that the salmon is ready to eat once the meat can be flaked with a fork, you can also check the internal temperature with an instant read thermometer. Simply place it into ht largest part of the fish and check. The temperature should read 125-130 degrees F. Note that the fish will continue to cook as it rests thanks to the residual heat so you don’t want to overcook it as it may end up dry before you get a chance to enjoy it.
