Let’s Talk Protein-Packed Muffins!

When it comes to muffins there’s the good, not-so-good, and the ugly! Some muffins are packed with whole-food goodness, loaded with nutrients, and super nourishing. Others are kind-of healthy, with whole grains but also a bunch of sugar, and others…well, let’s just say they might as well be cupcakes.

These muffins are whole-foods focused, packed with flavour and balanced with a nice dose of protein. Protein is a great addition to muffins because they are often carbohydrate-driven and the protein helps to slow the release of carbohydrate sugars into the body’s blood stream and prevent a spike in blood sugar levels!

Added protein also helps make muffins more filling and satisfying so you don’t feel like you need a second helping half an hour later.

  • I made the Chocolate Protein Muffins by Eating Bird Food. Honestly easy to make and not bad for a protein muffin. I liked how they were low calorie. I’m going try a pumpkin one next!
