Watermelon Turmeric Lemonade Slushies

Ah, and just like that our Summer holiday has come to an end. We had an amazing time as a family spending quality time together (quality time is totally my love language so this was especially wonderful for me!), sleeping in, visiting wineries, relaxing by the pool and checking out the beautiful Okanagan area.

As Summer comes to a close it’s time to squeeze out the last bit of those simple Summer flavours which is why today I’m bringing you these super simple, easy, and refreshing Watermelon Turmeric Lemonade Slushies. I’m sure you’ve seen watermelon slushie drinks out there, but these are unique with the addition of bright and nourishing turmeric.

Turmeric has a mild flavour and blends wonderfully with the sweet watermelon and tangy lemonade in this delicious recipe. It also brings in some great anti-inflammatory power for sore joints and other inflammation your body might be experiencing.

I chose to add turmeric to these slushies not just to add a healthy twist, but because I’ve been thinking a lot about the benefits of turmeric since taking the new FAST joint care+ with fermented turmeric from Genuine Health. I added this supplement to my morning regime just over 3 weeks ago and have noticed an improvement in my joints and body overall.

Being a newish momma (Hemsley is already 4 months old!) I’ve noticed the added stress on my body carrying my little one around the house, hoisting her up over my shoulder, picking her up and putting her down, and the poor posture I sometimes find myself falling into during breastfeeding. I’m positioning my body in different ways than I did before and have noticed the extra strain, not to mention the strains and pains that come from the 9 months of pregnancy leading up to having her!

The FAST joint care+ with fermented turmeric helps to provide relief for chronic joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation and helps to nourish and repair joint damage. With natural eggshell membrane and fermented organic turmeric it actually helps to build joint cartilage and reduce inflammation in as little as 5 days. I’d say I began noticing a different after about a week and found that my left side neck and shoulder pain (which has been a chronic issue for years) wasn’t bothering me as much as usual!

While taking a turmeric supplement is great,  a little extra turmeric doesn’t hurt and that’s how it found it’s way into these tasty summer slushies! Watermelon has some anti-inflammatory benefits as well as it contains tons of water, vitamins A, B6 and C, lycopene, many antioxidants and even some amino acids. Combine that with the turmeric and the vitamin C loaded lemonade and we’ve got a pretty nutritionally powerful slushie on our hands.

As Summer comes to a close I’ll be making a few more of these Watermelon Slushies and I definitely plan to continue taking the FAST joint care+ with fermented turmeric as part of my daily supplement regime.
