NITK’s Favourite Energy Bars Balls + Bites

NITK's Fave Energy Bars Balls + Bites via Nutritonist in the Kitch

Wow, it’s pretty crazy how many recipes I’ve managed to compile over the last few years… they sure do add up! So I was perusing my recipes list and noticed how many yummy Energy Snack recipes there are!

I’ve always loved coming up with these recipes in particular because they are simple, quick, portable, and always make for a delicious pre-workout boost!

I thought it would be fun to highlight some of my faves from the blog to inspire you to get your Energy Bar, Ball + Bite on this weekend! All you really need are a few tasty, healthy, whole food ingredients and a run-of-the-mill food processor!

Energy bars get their “energy factor” from dried dates or other dried fruits that provide a plentiful portion of natural sugars and quick digesting carbohydrates. The dried fruits when combined with other ingredients like rolled oats, raw nuts or seeds, cocoa powder, protein powders, nut butters, or pumpkin puree, really pack a punch! I love to carry these homemade delights along in my purse or even store some in my car for those moments when I’m running low on fuel and need a quick and healthy pick-me-up!

Take a peek at some of my NITK faves!

  • These all look out of this world 😀 And I love making energy bars and marbles too, so delicious, and healthy – but the latter part no one would ever be able to tell! 😀 x

  • Raw Cinamon Raisin balls
    3/4 cup walnuts (75 grams)
    3/4cup rolled or traditional oats
    1 Cup dates (180 grams)
    cups raisins (180 grams)
    2 tsp vanilla
    2 tsp cinnamon
    2 telson Agave Syrup

Blend oats and walnuts in food processor till fine. Set aside
Process dates and raisins till smooth then add vanilla Cinamon and agave
Add dry ingredients and pulse till it comes together adding more agave if too dry.
    Roll into small balls
You can add a frosting if you like
    1tblspn coconut oil softened
    2 tblspn agave
    1 tspn Cinamon
Stir together and pipe onto balls

  • I found a delicious recipe on Pinterest once! I use it every time.
    – All Natural Peanut Butter
    – Ground Flax Seed
    – Raw Honey
    – Dark Chocolate Chips
    – Chocolate Protein Powder
So Good! Definitely going to give some of these a try though, thanks!

  • Hey,

    I make 2 different onces.
    A chocolate protein one

    30gram cashews
    30 gram raisins
    30 gram dates
    7.5 gram cocoa powder
    15 gram hemp protein powder
a small bit of vanilla extract
if needed i add a little water

I make them into 10 gram balls and munch on them trough the day

Another one i make is a blueberry one
    30 gram almonds
    30 gram dates
    30 gram dried blueberries
    pinch of vanilla
    some candied lemon peel
Sometimes I add some rice protein to that (but it takes away from the flavor)

Last one i just remembered is
    60 gram dates
    30 gram cashews / almonds
    0.5 – 1 tsp almond extract

    All of these are yum!

    • Oh Yum! Those sound so amazing both of them – I love the idea of dried blueberries and the candied lemon! Delcious! Thanks for sharing Anna!
