Today I’m sharing 22 make-ahead healthy camping recipes from the NITK archives and around the blogosphere!
These healthy recipes are perfect for camping because they can be made ahead of time, quickly packed in the cooler, and easily eaten while camping.
Making meals and snacks ahead of time is always a great idea as it saves food waste, space, and makes clean-up a breeze! I’ve separated the recipes into three categories; breakfasts, mains, and snacks/treats. There’s something healthy for every meal of the day while you are exploring and enjoying nature!

These recipes are great to start the day while camping, they will fuel you and energize you for the days activities and take no-time at all to prepare. I love overnight oats as you can enjoy them right out of the jar, or whipping up a stack of simple pancakes. You can bake a banana bread loaf ahead of time and just toast it up in a skillet over the campfire along with an egg or two!

Make-Ahead Mains Recipes:
When it comes to main meals there are tons of options for make-ahead recipes, from mason jar salads to warming chili with cornbread, to stuffed sweet potatoes (make ahead then just warm them up in foil over the campfire and fill with the toppings!), to burritos or wraps.
You can even make raw kebabs in advance, place in a Tupperware, then just cook over the open flame when camping! All of these options are definitely healthier than your average hot-dog and most of them are plant-based, providing even more nourishment while you enjoy your time outdoors.
